Acceptable Use Policy

Lead Recovery Desk exists to help a business re-contact people it already has a relationship with. This page sets out what that means in practice, what is never allowed, and what happens when something goes wrong.

Using the service

Policy

1. What this service is for

Lead Recovery Desk is for contacting people your own business already has a relationship with: past customers, people who enquired, people you quoted, people whose membership or renewal lapsed. That relationship is the entire basis of the product.

You must be able to say, for every record you upload, how that person came to be on your list. The service asks you to record this, and it uses your answer to decide which safety rules apply.

2. What is never allowed

You may not use Lead Recovery Desk to:

  • contact people you have no prior relationship with, including bought, rented, scraped or swapped lists;
  • send on behalf of a business that is not yours, or present the sender as a business, brand or person it is not;
  • use a sending domain chosen to resemble somebody else's brand;
  • contact anyone who has opted out, complained, or asked you to stop, whether that happened here or anywhere else;
  • remove, obscure or break the unsubscribe link, the reply route, or the sender identity in a message;
  • send anything unlawful, deceptive, or designed to obtain money, credentials or personal data under false pretences;
  • split one audience across multiple accounts, or create additional accounts, in order to get around a limit, a pause or a suspension.

3. Limits are safety measures, not targets

Sending limits, readiness stages, cooldowns and pauses exist to protect recipients and to keep sending identities healthy. They are not obstacles to be worked around, and attempting to bypass them is itself a breach of this policy.

We do not promise inbox placement, a delivery rate, a reply rate or a fixed sending volume, and we do not offer any feature whose purpose is to evade a spam filter, a provider policy or a recipient's choice.

4. Review, pause and suspension

An upload or a campaign may be held for review when its provenance is incomplete, when a list is old, when the volume is unusual for the account, or when previous sending from the account drew bounces or spam complaints. Held work is not deleted; it simply cannot be sent until the question is answered.

An account may be suspended where there is evidence of a breach of this policy, a serious risk to recipients, or a pattern of complaints. Suspension stops sending. It does not delete your data, and you keep access to export and deletion for as long as the account exists.

Where it is safe and practical to do so, we will tell you what triggered a review or a suspension and what would resolve it. Some cases, such as a credible report of unlawful activity, may not allow that.

5. Reporting a problem

If you received a message you should not have, or you believe an account is being misused, email info@leadrecoverydesk.com. Recipients do not need an account to opt out: every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and opting out applies to every address and number held for that person.

6. Relationship to the other terms

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and sits alongside the Privacy Notice and the Data Processing Agreement. Where this policy is stricter than a general term, this policy applies.
